currently in salzburg, austria. travelling around europe for about a month with a friend, and it's been absolutely AWESOME so far.

and it's strange, but i don't miss singapore at all.
not in the least bit.

well, close friends and family don't count of course, because i definitely miss them.

but i feel as if there's nothing holding me back to stay in singapore, and that my true calling is in someplace else. perhaps london or munich; those are the cities i've felt a strong affinity for so far. in fact, i'm very tempted to apply for a job overseas and eventually settle down there... although it may not be as prestigious or related to my degree, at least i'll be out of the stifling place that is singapore, where it's like you're given less equal treatment if you fail to fit in the high-achiever model. i honestly am thinking about being a music reviewer in london, or a tour guide in munich (where i can learn more german at the same time).

plus, european cities are so gorgeous and rich with history. went to a fortress in salzburg today that is older than copernicus's discovery that the earth rotates around the sun, older than shakespeare's works. how fucking cool is that? you can't find that in singapore.
